Heather’s All time favorites list…

  1. Thoughless by S.C. Stephens

Favorite book and favorite book boyfriend…Kellan Kyle. I adore S.C. Stephens writing style and the depth of her characters. For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together, Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university, everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source—a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend that she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes…and none of them will ever be the same.

If you are looking for an angst filled romance with a hot rocker, check this one out! (This is a Contemporary Romance with adult themes and a cheating partner.)

2) The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning

The entire series is an action packed drama with love, lust, adventure and mystery. It revolces around the world of the Fae. The King of the Fae has found a way to tear a hole in the fabric keeping the our world safe. He has released a darkness that must be stopped. MacKayla Lane, or “Mac”, is determined to do everything in her power to avenge her sisters death and find a mysterious book. Barrons is also looking for the book but for very different reasons. Barrons is my second favorite book boyfriend. My favorite line: “Your leaving me rainbow girl”. LOVE this entire series. (This is a fantasy series with adult themes.)

3) The Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost

There isn’t much written by Jeanine Frost that I don’t like, but this series is an all time favorite of mine. Cat and Bones are an absolutely fabulous couple. Cat is a kick ass heroine who sets our to rid the world of all vampires. Bones is a very old master vampire who falls fast and hard for Cat. This series is action packed paranormal adventure. (This is a paranormal romance with adult themes.)

4) Slammed by Colleen Hoover

If you have not read this book, stop what you are doing and read it! This book has been optioned by a movie producer for good reason, it is absolutely AMAZING. The lead character Layken and her family move. As they are getting settled Layken meets her new neighbor, Will. He is amazing in every way and she falls for him hard and fast, unfortunately they can never be. This story of unrequited love, heartbreak and devastation takes you on a journey of hope and renewal. After reading Slammed, you have to read Point of No Retreat, book two!  (This is a new adult romance with mild adult themes)

5) Fifty Shades of Grey, by E.L. James

Yes, I am a HUGE fan of fifty shades of Grey. (I also am a Twilight fan…so sue me!) I adore Christian Grey in all of his fifty shades of fucked upedness. I know that many did not like the highly sexual nature of the series but to me it was an awakening for Anastasia. She was the young and innocent girl he was the dark and brooding man waiting to corrupt her. Only she wasn’t corrupted, she discovered who she was and in doing so discovered the love of her life. (This is a highly erotic romance with mature themes and BDSM. If this is offensive, this series is not for you.)

6) Consequences and Truth by Aletha Romig

This book will knock your socks off. It is a psychological thriller. I had no idea what was going to happen next and it left me feeling very uneasy at times it was dark with lots of twists and turns. It was so well thought out that I had no idea what was going to happen next. This is a serious nail biting page turner. (Mature themes, BDSM, non-consent, dubious consent, and abduction..but what a ride!)

7) The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski

This is a tear jerker, keep your Kleenex handy! Camryn decides to take an impromptu road trip on a Greyhound…to Idaho. Along the way she meets Andrew. He pushes her limits and teaches her to live life to the fullest. She finds herself drawn to him and immersed in his world. Andrew quickly becomes someone that Camryn can’t see herself without him, but she doesn’t know if Andrew will stay. This is an amazingly well told story that will suck you in and keep you hanging! (New adult for mild sexual themes.)

8) Captive in The Dark and Seduced in the Dark, (The Dark Duet) by C.J. Roberts

This series is a roller coaster of emotion. It starts out as an abduction in the slave trade world and turns in to a personal story between the abductor and the abducted. Livvie is a young woman from an impoverished community. Caleb is in over his head and has to find a woman to train to be a sex slave. Livvie is the perfect candidate. She is meek and shy and most importantly, no one would miss her. On her way to school one day Livvie is abducted. Her life will never be the same. (Very mature and disturbing themes, dark erotica, disturbing language and graphic violence.)

9) The Kathleen Turner series by Tiffany Snow

This series is action packed, funny and sexy as hell. I love Kathleen Turner. She is a runner for an attorney’s office. One day she is called in to deliver some papers to one of the partners in the firm during an important meeting. She accidentally trips and does a faceplant…into his lap. This book is action packed and funny. The heroine is strong and smart and the men around her are constantly underestimating her. I LOVE THAT! Kathleen is a combo of Daphne’s good looks and Velma’s brains. (Pardon the Scoobie Doo reference but this is definitely a whodunit kind of book) If you haven’t read this little gem….you simply must!(Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense, and mature content.)

10) On Dublin Street by Samantha Young

I am in love with this book. It is an amazing story getting lost and finding your way home. How can you not love a story about a lonely girl from the states falling for the roguish Scotsman? Jocelyn is a loner and she is hiding from her past. She takes an apartment and soon meets a guy she has trouble saying no to. Brayden sees Jocelyn and he wants her, but she is determined to remain just out of his reach. This is another tear jerker but oh so worth it. ( Contemporary Romance with mature adult themes.)

11) The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

The Sea of Tranquility is a rich, intense, and brilliantly imagined story about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances. I absolutely adored this book. There really aren’t words to describe the angst and pain that these two very broken and tattered characters are going through.
“People say love is unconditional, but it’s not, and even if it was unconditional, it’s still never free”
Nastya and Josh are two very different but equally hurting souls who come together in their pain and find that being with one another doesn’t make it go away but maybe makes life worth something. They find each other and start to heal. With Drew, they become a family. Nastya finally faces her past. She finds friends along the way. It made me laugh out loud, it made me cry. ( Young Adult, Contemporary Romance)

12) Fall From Grace (Mad World series), by Christine Zolendz

There is not much for me to say here other than, you are just going to have to read it! This is a rock star romance with a hot as sin rock god with a paranormal twist. (Paranormal Romance)

13) Fighting for Flight (Fighting #1), by Jamie Salsbury

They say the eyes are the window to the soul. Raven has her father’s eyes. She could not be more different from him. Raven’s father has a plan. Raven was meant to be. She has a purpose and he is pushing her toward her destiny.Raven sees what she could have only to see it all slip away. She finds a family and a purpose but is it her destiny?

Jonah has closed himself off. He refuses to get attached to anyone. He turned his rage into a career as a successful fighter. He has no idea what to think when he spots a spunky young female mechanic at an auto body shop. She pushes all of his buttons and he immediately feels something. She starts tearing down his walls and she makes him want to protect and cherish her.

This book made me feel so many things. I loved Jonah. He was a hero, a tough guy, a sweetheart and a hot sexy man. He never gave up on what he believed in and he fought for what he believed was right. Raven was a strong, independent woman who came into her own. She discovered who she was and what she was meant to be. I will be looking for this author in the future. (Contemporary Romance with Adult Themes.)

14) Wallbanger, by Alice Clayton.

I Loved this book! So many funny quotes I don’t know where to start. The characters are hilarious and the banter between Caroline and her Wallbanger, Simon, are just superb. Some of my favorite scenes also involved Caroline’s beloved cat, Clive. If you are looking for a funny romantic story this is the book for you. (Contemporary Romance, adult themes, Humor.)

15) Love Unscripted, by Tina Reber.

Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think that accepting a role in an unknown film would toss his career into overdrive. His new fame has cost him dearly; anonymity is no longer an option. His fans stalk him, the paparazzi hound him, and Hollywood studios all want a piece of him. Despite all of that, Ryan Christensen craves the most basic of human needs – to have love in his heart and privacy in his life.

Taryn Mitchell, the story’s protagonist, is a realist. She’s been feigning contentment, running the family pub in Seaport, Rhode Island, while quietly nursing her own internal heartaches. Her feet are fairly glued to the ground and she doesn’t buy into all the hype that has descended on her tiny, coastal town. In her world, men are safe if they’re kept at a distance.

Fate has other plans for these two when their paths cross one sunny afternoon. A group of female fans has attacked him, leaving his shirt torn, his face cut, and Ryan in obvious distress. Bonds between them form from the most dramatic of circumstances while jealousy, insecurity, and the stress of his celebrity life try to tear them apart.

Through all the tabloid lies, secrecy, and pressure, can Taryn’s peace and Ryan’s high-profile insanity live together in harmony? I adored this series. ( Contemporary Romance, adult themes.)

16) Chicagoland Vampire Series, by Cloe Neil

Merit is a kick ass heroine who is changed, without her consent, into a vampire. She becomes an official member of one of Chicago’s elite vampire houses, Cadogan House. In this series Vampires are out of the closet so to speak. Humans and vampires have struck a somewhat precarious coexistence. Merit was changed by none other than the head of Codagan House, Ethan Sullivan. Ethan, of course, is drop dead sexy and oozes self confidence. Merit and her best friend Mallory must learn to navigate the world of para normals. This series has a lot of sexual tension early on. It strayed a bit in book six but book seven was back on track and I am still loving this series. (Paranormal Romance, Action and Adventure, Adult Themes.)
